Things to Do

You could spend a lifetime exploring the Ozarks and never run out of exciting things to see and do. From beautiful hikes, world class rock climbing, and thrilling zip lines to charming nightlife and shopping for antiques, the Ozarks have it all.  Within a short drive from Ozark Acres, you will find the following:

Calico Rock, AR – Beautiful, historic Calico Rock rests upon the White River.  The downtown district boasts several shops and eateries and the area has excellent fishing for the sports enthusiasts.  Our favorite thing to do in Calico Rock, however, is to hike along the cliffs overlooking the river.  You’ll find some of the most spectacular views in the Ozarks along this ridge.

Downtown Hardy, AR – Hardy, Arkansas, just five minutes from Ozark Acres, is like no other place in the Ozarks.  The Downtown Main Street strip in Hardy has several antique stores, restaurants, collectible stores, and even a popular nightspot (Cruiser’s) featuring live music.  Along Main Street you’ll also find a beautiful gathering spot where locals listen to live music or just rest a while.  Downtown Hardy Main Street is located along the Spring River.  You’re walking distance from a beach, scenic river rapids and falls, and a large park along the river.

Griffin Park (Hardy, AR) – Home to the Zippin Griffin, a zip line that runs over the Spring River, Griffin Park is a popular destination for camping, horseback riding, hiking, and more!  The large amphitheater hosts many events throughout the year as well.

Spring River – The Spring River is a favorite for floating, rafting, canoeing, and kayaking. There are outfitters in and around Hardy who rent all that you’ll need for a great day on the river! The Spring River is formed from Mammoth Spring and runs south along Hwy 63 from Mammoth Spring to Hardy.

Mountain Home, AR / Lake Norfork / Bull Shoals Lake – Mountain Home is a large town with lots of natural beauty.  World famous Lake Norfork and Bull Shoals Lake are nearby with fishing and boating.  The White River runs through the area and has some of the nation’s best trout fishing!

Mammoth Spring, AR

West Plains, MO – A charming town not far over the Arkansas State Line, West Plains has an incredible downtown district with shops, restaurants, and even one of the classiest pubs in the nation, Roper’s Saloon!

Mountain View, AR – The Folk Music capital of the world, Mountain View is like stepping back in time.  Every night, downtown Mountain View becomes a venue for impromptu jam sessions among musicians.

Jasper, AR – Jasper, Arkansas is known around the world for its world class rock climbing in some of North America’s most rugged terrain.  The beautiful Buffalo River is there as is the natural home to a large Elk population.  Horseshoe Canyon Ranch is a popular destination with zip lining, horseback riding, cabins for rent, and much more!

Eureka Springs, AR
